A slightly tatty cardboard box containing a puzzle :

The box measures ~19 x 13 x 8 cm and has written on it :-

CHRYSLER BUILDING
71 STORIES  1046 FEET HIGH

SKYLINE
3 DIMENTIONAL PUZZLE

Inside the box are various wooden puzzle pieces that slot together to form a model of the Chrysler building (34 cm to the end of the metal point)

There is a complete set of pieces although I think one of them has been replaced in the distant past, the silver paint on the plaster top piece also looks a little rough, so that may have been touched up.

There are also some pen scribbles to some of the hidden surfaces of the puzzle.

The 3 page folded booklet is complete if a little worn and fragile.

A rare vintage puzzle in good condition for its age!

From the booklet:-

"SKYLINE"
Three Dimensional Puzzles.

UNIQUE! INGENIOUS! ENTERTAINING! EDUCATIONAL!

HERE is a new type of puzzle to test your ingenuity; a puzzle in three dimensions, combining length, width and height. A really interesting pastime for all ages, with the added thrill of actual construction.

"SKYLINE" puzzles are scale models of modern skyscrapers and when properly assembled, each model becomes a replica of one of the world's outstanding buildings, to serve as an ornament in your home. The pieces are accurately cut and interlock in such a way as to withstand ordinary jarring without separating.

Since each piece must interlock on three or four faces with the surrounding pieces, "SKYLINE" puzzles, with less pieces than ordinary flat jig-saw puzzles, are far more fascinating and require more ingenuity and a keener sense of observation to assemble.

"SKYLINE" puzzles have an additional popular appeal due to their educational value. They serve to stimulate a sense of proportion and harmony in the minds of children. A complete line of assembled models is valuable for comparison and study of Architectural features.

Let your child build himself a city of "SKYLINE" puzzles.
